Competition Points

Competition points are the primary ranking system used in Women's Elite Rugby. Teams earn points throughout the season based on match results and bonus point opportunities. The club with the most competition points rises to the top of the standings table.

Bonus Points

Women's Elite Rugby standings are determined by competition points earned throughout the season. Teams receive: 4 points for a win 2 points for a draw 0 points for a loss 1 bonus point for scoring four or more tries in a match 1 bonus point for losing by seven points or fewer Teams are ranked by their total competition points. If two or more teams finish level on points, tie-breakers such as (1) head-to-head, (2) bonus points, (3) road winss, results will be used to determine their position in the standings.

Bonus points provide teams with additional opportunities to earn competition points throughout the season. Bonus points are awarded according to the following criteria and added to a team's total standings points: One (1) losing bonus point is awarded when a team loses by seven (7) points or fewer. One (1) try bonus point is awarded when a team scores four (4) or more tries in a single match. These bonus points can be earned regardless of a team's position in the standings and often play an important role in determining final league rankings.

RW stands for Road Wins. This statistic tracks victories earned away from home and is often used as an indicator of a team's ability to perform under challenging conditions.
