While the USA Women’s Eagles were beating Wales 26–24, women’s club rugby across the United States produced its own mix of huge scores and one-point and two-point finishes on Saturday, September 26.

Palmer College scored 112 points in Midwest Division II, County Will Morrigans edged Fox Valley Vixens by two and North Buffalo Ninjas earned their first league victory of the season by a single point.

Elsewhere, Chicago Lions remained unbeaten with a road win over the Twin Cities Amazons, Pittsburgh Forge kept its perfect start intact and Columbus Squirrels recorded a 48-point shutout.

Palmer Reaches 112

Palmer College beat CRC Sirens 112–0 in Midwest Women’s Division II CARFU, the biggest score among RFC’s tracked women’s club results on Saturday.

Before Saturday, the Midwest Rugby Union table had Palmer at 3–0 with 276 points scored and only 15 conceded. Adding Saturday’s result puts Palmer at 4–0 with 388 points for and 15 against.

Saturday was also the second meeting between Palmer and the Sirens this season. Palmer won the first 78–10 on August 29.

Across the two meetings, Palmer has outscored the Sirens 190–10.

The Sirens entered Saturday at 2–1, with the previous loss coming against Palmer. Their two victories included a 93–22 win over Fox Valley Vixens and a much tighter 17–12 result against County Will Morrigans.

Saturday moves the Sirens to 2–2, while Palmer’s four wins and nearly 400 points make its start more than a one-off.

One Point in Buffalo, Two in Illinois

Two of the closest games of the weekend came in Midwest Division II.

North Buffalo Ninjas 27, Uticuse 26.

North Buffalo entered Saturday having lost its opening four league matches, including a 38–29 defeat against Uticuse on August 22. This time, North Buffalo reversed the result by a single point.

The victory gives the Ninjas their first league win of the campaign and moves them to 1–4, while Uticuse moves to 2–3.

County Will Morrigans 30, Fox Valley Vixens 28.

County Will took the CARFU contest in Manhattan, Illinois, by two points.
